2017 Sierra Hike- Silver Lake to Devils Postpile via JMT

 

 Day 1, July 30th heading up Rush Creek Trail to the JMT/PCT junction.

Agnew Lake 2.1 miles & still going up!


Camp along Rush Creek, mosquitoes were intense!
 

Day 2- Waugh Lake- almost to the JMT junction!

There at last, the fun begins.


Heading to Island Pass
 
Island Pass camp, 10,200 ft.  Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Day 3- 1000 Island Lake with smoke haze from fires.

Garnet lake, great spot for a rest after our climb.

Day 4- ready to hit the trail.

Trinity Lake Camp- looks lovely but the
mosquitoes were HORRIBLE! 


Day 5- heading to Devils Postpile.

Day 34 to 36- Oct 2016 : Homeward bound.

Day 34: Fog over the Snake River. Hwy. 30 really nice alternative going West from Twin Falls๐Ÿ˜.
Peaceful Snake River. 

Thousand Falls, ID
Nice camp spot at Farewell Bend SP.  Got on camp early so we got a nice pull through ❤️
Day 35: Early morning start heading to Plymouth Park (ACE)
The Blues frosted with snow.
Soooo nice to see conifers again๐Ÿ˜Š
This gets your attention!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Yeehaw, this required 3 warnings!  

Got into Plymouth early & enjoyed the sunshine๐ŸŒž

Day 36: Love the Yakima Canyon road❤️. Change of plans, decided to head on home VS stopping in Wenatchee area๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š. Great way to end our wonderful trip๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿš๐Ÿš™

Day 33- Oct 20, 2016:Sun Valley/ Ketchum, ID

Heading up early to Sun Valley area for the day๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh, oh, looks like too much snow for our possible hike at Redfish Lake. 
Sawtooth Valley. ❄️❄️❄️❄️. Quite cold & windy also. 

Much better choice near Ketchum❤️


Fox Creek trail head. 
Still some great Fall colors. 
 
Much nicer track, trail a bit muddy from snow melt. 
Back to parking lot trail head. Nice way to spend the morning.
